youngest of the blumenthal trio
only child. his parents had him in and their late 30s, early 40s & are feeling that age. he used to always do what he could to ease his burden especially when he started growing taller than most people in the village.
helped a lot out with the farmers & also went out to collect firewood for several households. has a more intimate relationship with the hunters & would often accompany them to the edge of the woods, asking them questions about their traps, their methods & opinions
doesn’t really think much of stories or books, but appreciates their value nonetheless. around ten, he & his parents used to debate farming during dinner & before bed. he’s carried over this habit into his adulthood, taking to reviewing previous battles, battle / war tactics & maps of dangerous areas to help him sleep or while away a sleepless night. likes maps quite a bit, honestly. in another life, he would have liked to be a cartographer who traveled the world.
went to the academy more so to accompany bren. was curious about magic, sure, but he was very content with his life & probably would have refused because he was worried about his parents. stayed because of astrid.
really adept at the practical application of magic. is very good at observing people & copying them to an unerring degree of accuracy. he does well enough with theory, but it’s not as engaging for him. he learns best being thrown into the thick of it & figuring things out on his feet. which combined with his more tactical-driven mindset gives eadwulf a nice balance of being able to plan things out effectively, but adapt if need be.
huge protective instinct. ever since he was young, he’s had to be extremely conscious of himself & his strength. he likes the power of protecting himself & his own. this instinct has been warped to include the interests of the assembly & of course, trent.
