It was mid-day, just after lunch, and most of the kitchen crew had gone to take their breaks. As bad as her attitude was occasionally towards her coworkers, even Sasha had to admit that most of them knew what they were doing. Couple that with having the same crew for over a year and they worked like a well oiled machine. It didn’t make putting out meals any less stressful, but it did flow better than she’d ever expected when she’d first taken the job.
Running a sanitizing rag over a countertop she let out a peaceful exhale. Taking time to revel in being alone, at least for another twenty minutes or so, she leaned back against a counter and pulled out her phone. Hearing the door open just in front of her she looked up, recognizing one of the royalty. She couldn’t remember ever talking to him, but she’d seen him around. Brows drawing together she called out to him. “Just because the staff only sign is small doesn’t mean it’s not valid.” With all the people who wandered into the kitchen though; if she hadn’t seen it earlier that day beside the door, she might wonder if it was gone entirely.
