eardrumspop sets hi-five - eardrumspops - 5º year anniversary compilation
EardrumsPop is celebrating its 5th birthday with a free compilation of 38 songs contributed by artists connected in one (or several) ways with the label. Find all the info and download here. Thinking of all the lovely releases of the past it'd be very hard to name a single favourite song, but if I had to, I *might* go for Boca Chica's 'For Jacob with Malaria' (it captures "warm and melodic" so perfectly), as far as EPs go. As for the Between Two Waves compilations: 1) I never got over how beautiful 'Not That Easy' by The Hurries is and how emotional it makes me. 2) Red Deer People's 'Early Warning System' was one of my favourite 2014 songs - I remember playing it on a train journey from a garden party to a festival, where I was going to see Fanfarlo that night, and it was the perfect soundtrack to a perfect day. Other favourite releases include Tiny Fireflies, The Very Most and Lost Tapes. And of course many more. There's so much to love and be thankful for. Also, make sure not to miss this lovely little presentation of the label's history.

FLÏRT - Days Unfold
DAYS UNFOLD by FLÏRT
Seen in Hamburg last week: local indiepop band FLÏRT and enjoyed their performance immensely! Some of the band's members also play in Sleeping Policemen and/or collaborate with other lovely bands for the equally lovely EardrumsPop compilations. Speaking of which, Knut of EardrumsPop shared this important article on how to keep DIY/indie bands and labels alive today: If you care, please share.
