headphones in , head buried in her phone & absolutely no care for the world around her . just the way nico minoru liked it when she wasn’t comfortable . better to mentally take yourself out of the picture than deal with the world & the people in it . not to mention she was alone . the other runaways nowhere to be seen -- not even molly who she’s pretty sure would actually follow her to the other side of the country without an invitation . -- there’s no real reason as to why she stopped & looked around ( consider it a hunch or just a speck of good luck in the midst of whatever mess that was her current life ) but she does & attention is grabbed by something in a tree near by , something she would have considered a stuck cat or something of the likes had she not stepped closer & caught a glimpse of a person . ‘ you uh , you good up there ? ’ sure , people climbed in trees -- in their own backyard when they’re ten . honestly she’s surprised she’s yet to pull molly from one of the trees around the mansion . at this point she would be so lucky . but ... one headphone is taken out , eyes squinting for a moment as she studied the being above her . ‘ wait , kate ? ’ of all the people to find on the other side of the country it had to be someone relative to her parents . cool . // @earnedlegacy
