The Next Avatar is Earth and I think it should be a Beifong.
More specifically, Opal and Bolin’s grandkid. And he’s going to be much more awesome than you think. I mean, Bolin’s heritage is from Fire and Earth, while Opal is Earth, she become an Air Bender. And then Bolin’s daughter married a Water bender. Making this Avatar a very diverse one.
But what makes him more unique than the other Avatar is, he is a non-bender. I mean, Opal’s father is a non bender, so there’s already a gene for non bending in there. And I also assume that not all Earth benders in Bolin’s family is a bender, like his grandmother. So another non-bending gene. Or so they thought.
But to make this story more unique, and because they can’t find the next Avatar, they thought that Korra is the last Avatar. So the world look at that as sign and thought that they don’t need the Avatar anymore. And some even look at it as a sign that the Avatar abandoned them.
The Avatar is 20 years old when he first bended, and it happened because something triggers him to enter the Avatar state. And to top it all, he would accidentally killed someone using that, making him hate himself and the responsibility of being the avatar. So he hide it, because he is ashamed of what he did. But there’s a war in the horizon, and it’s about time he face his destiny.
