Bad for temperature changes, bad for chores, also bad for the clothes? I just feel like they're not meant to be washed as often as that would necessitate

it may be hard to choose between kay and lang, but at least no matter the results, it's a win for gay people 😌
That’s what’s so great about the aa awards!
No matter who wins, it won’t be a win for cishets, because there are no cishets. ;)

ma'am, I think you’re a bit late
earthdeep replied to your photo: “Mmmm it appears the anime’s goal was to make this scene even worse and...”:
I'm not sure the exact lines in the game (having blacked out from rage) so idk if they intentionally made it more obvious how wrong godot is. like he specifically says nick WAS there to "protect" mia when... no. no it was a fact nick (and maya for that matter) found her dead. when he's got basic facts like that wrong, it's super obvious godot is full of it.
He did say pretty much the exact same irrational thing in the game, I remember it because it flabbergasted me so deeply. He really does seem to think if you’re a manly enough man you have the psychic ability to know when any woman is in danger and can teleport there. Or you keep your women in a box so no one can ever murder them.
Like if Nick had been there, of course he would have tried to protect Mia! If Maya had been there, she would have tried to protect Mia! They love her and that’s what people like them do when someone’s threatening a loved one! But they weren’t! Because Mia did not involve anyone in the case, it was something she was pursuing on her own!
It really is like Godot walked into Ace Attorney and was like ‘hey why isn’t this series doing any of the classic women in refrigerators tropes, why isn’t Phoenix Wright making Mia’s death about him and agonizing about his failure to protect her, he needs to do that! No I don’t care if it doesn’t make sense, I DEMAND WE DO THIS!!” It’s so annoying.
so about the ‘living lie detector’ part
I am quite certain that this ability is, in fact, the reason Apollo is so dense motive-wise
it’s a deliberately cultivated denseness, borne out of abject refusal to go through life pondering every single instance of someone being nervous about something unexpected
that, or it’s a result of those tells mucking up normal pool of social reactions for Apollo leaving him with constant information overload on what other people might be thinking and feeling that’s literally just impossible to parse in real time
he can focus and produce useful results out of it when he has to, but most of the time he p much just ignores all input his power gives him because consider: NOPE
like either Apollo COULD be v insightful about people and just refuses to bc fuck thinking about other human beings that much
or he couldn’t if he tried to bc its too much for a human brain to handle literally
either way, Trucy is not like that bc she doesnt have a bracelet so her ability isnt as invasive in her everyday life, and/or bc she really does like thinking about other people That Much
@earthdeep replied to your post “so this is a maybe weird question but?? if tal-vashoth were to settle...”
iirc one of the codexes from dai is an interview with a qunari born outside the qun, who goes by the term “vashoth” and then has to constantly correct the interviewer
Yeah, it’s also clarified a few times if you play as Adaar in DAI, but that’s not what the question was asking, I don’t think?

thank uuuu! gah it's really irritating as well how ppl say it could never get into effect when uh, no, it fits v well with other established things abt khura'in's culture like the whole sins of the father thing that u literally have to deal with multiple times! why would it be a stretch for ppl to be convinced that all association with criminals is bad? the dca simultaneously seems ridiculous from an outside viewpoint AND is a logical way to erode legal rights within khura'in!
Agreed! Khura’in is not Japan/U.S. in the slightest; although the courts somewhat run like our usual court, I think that is largely for gameplay purposes than anything. I was always confused about the idea that the DCA “would never pass” because.........it didn’t need to really pass anything in the first place? Khura’in was painted as a theocracy + absolute monarchy/authoritarian without a legislature, so it didn’t need to “pass” anything. The Queen put it into place and enforced it. That’s all it needs.
Authoritarian regimes are interesting because unlike democracies, the amount of people that the ruler needs to keep “happy” is much smaller - basically their constituency consists of those in the nation of the highest status (aka - those who have the greatest ability to overthrow them in some manner). Usually this includes the military, which obviously Ga’ran had under her thumb under the implication that she was a medium and therefore the legitimate heir to the throne. Control of the military/police is essential; if you have it, your power as an autocrat rises greatly. (Which is why even it took exposing Ga’ran as a fraud to really help the revolution: this is what caused her control of the military force to erode.)
And, if the autocrat has a nice narrative (which Ga’ran had due to the assassination plot + Dhurke’s believed crimes + the religious angle) they can easily brainwash the masses into thinking what they are doing is right. We see things like this all the time in all sorts of government systems.
The DCA was a way for Ga’ran to stay in power and it largely worked until her own constituency started working against her (Inga’s plot to overthrow, etc.), and the painting of defense attorneys as evil basically allowed the hunt against them to occur without the mass resistance that maybe we would have seen elsewhere. Authoritarian regimes work very differently from democracies (obviously), so it makes perfect sense that something like the DCA would exist for so long.
