This year’s Earth Hour on Reethi Beach was darker than ever and all agree that the atmosphere on the entire island was great. Talking about giving pledges… Pledges were collected on the beach in the evening after a cooking Bodu Beru show and the promises given were exactly what it had been hoped for: “switch off the PC before going to bed”, “unplug the gadgets on standby”, “ride a bicycle more often”… The Ocean Promise board was kept prominently displayed on the following day for more guests and colleagues to make a pledge… 

We count the participation of Tiago during the island clean-up on Dhandhoo as a further success of Earth Hour 2014. Tiago is just 22 months old and will hopefully carry the spirit into coming generations…
