Jul 24 2026: The Boondocks

I really like the boondocks and I have watched all the seasons, except the 4th. It is my understanding that it's not written by the same person and is significantly worse than the first three.

I'm only four minutes into the 3rd episode of the 4th season, and I believe I can see the dip in quality, but at the same time, if I didn't know how people felt or that the writing had changed, I would just think it was my personal preference.

So if it gets really bad or if I think it's better than what I expected, I will say so later

Are you little sad that Huey and Riley from the Boondocks skin tone in the pilot episode ain't like that in the actual series? Same with Jasmine .

I overall prefer the art style of the pilot that resembled most like the original comic style. It was more unique and cute.

As for their skin tones, I think I have more of a problem of how desaturated everyone is. I got used to it, but compared to the pilot, I always felt something was lacking when I watched the show. Now I know it was color.

Jazmine really surprised me tho in the pilot, cuz what do you mean her hair and skin were darker?! They demonstrated the fact she was biracial just fine, they didn’t need to light wash her 😅 And yeah, it is possible to light wash lightskinned Black characters
