         a soft CHUCKLE escapes his throat at her response. it has been strange to transition out of the military, but some things he doesn’t miss. for one, he doesn’t have to shave constantly and he can let his hair grow out. something clarke seems clearly be ENJOYING as well.  “  good.  ”  he shifts and kisses her lips.  “  maybe i’ll just let it grow until you start complainin’.  ”

Lips curl momentarily at the other's words, eyes flitting to the side because she's RIGHT. They had survived a year down here. A year of -- Too much. Too much to name. Too much done that had TAINTED them. They had been kids when they hit that earth but they no longer rightfully could call each other such. They had gone beyond... What were they now? Just people who tried to survive.

Live to see another day. " Fair enough, though let's be real. I never faced the mountain men like you lot did so I can't scratch that off my bucket list. " he commented with a light grin shot toward her.  There was no way to ensure their survival now. Most of it would be done on sheer LUCK and DETERMINATION...  The lighthouse bunker wasn't an option and-- A soft sigh. " ... What you did for Emori. " he started, hesitant at first. There was so much bad blood between him and Clarke, but still... " Thank you. "

he currently can’t tell which hurts more – his head, or his heart. this was never supposed to happen. not only because of the laws, but because he told himself to never get attached to someone in that way. and of course, he got attached to the one person he wasn’t supposed to be allowed to have. clarke meant too much to him to let all that get in the way though.

“ a chance at what? to keep pretending to be this person that i don’t want to be to make my parents happy? you know me clarke…you know how much i hate this – all of this. ” he wasn’t the perfect son or brother or any of that the way everyone expected him to be. and it was constantly held over him. clarke didn’t treat him that way. she made him feel important, and like he had some anchor to his world now. “ i only want a chance if it’s with you… ”

He's laying behind her, legs curled into her own. His hair is shorter, trimmed on the sides, features more worn. Twenty nine isn't that old, but his bones weigh heavy. It's late and the moonlight falls in through the window of the rover. His lips graze at her neck as his fingers slide along her curves, trace up her arm to cup at her bicep. Tenderly he presses his lips along her shoulder as a soft sigh escapes. He closes his eyes and buries his features into her warm skin, strong arm locking around her waist to pull her into him. Hard enough now that he's shaking just slightly, but pay no heed. Quietly... the six years worth of pent up mourning begin to rise. // @earthkeepcr
