oswald baskerville from pandora hearts (i love ur ocs vampy)
Name: Alexander Belrose †Age: 700+, now deceasedSpecies: The Chosen ( vampire )Affiliation: Royal Family of MisteriaOccupation: The late King of Misteria
PRE-CANON INFORMATION: Born as the only heir to Misteria prior to his ruling, Alexander grew up with a twisted perception of superiority over everyone due to his royal blood as well as being one of ‘The Chosen’ whom are considered to be the natives of the land. Due to this, he grew up completely unfavorable to anyone whom was not of his kin, considering them to be lowly beings or not worth his time. This toxic behavior spread through the kingdom, essentially affecting the upper class folk whom he had connections to and it started a huge source of discrimination and a mistreatment to anyone who was not of pureblood lineage It was upon the rite of passage as a ceremony to the accession of the throne that Alexander essentially wished to claim war upon the other countries to claim full control over the entirety of the lands. In order to do so, he had started to invest much of the kingdom’s money into the army, recruiting and training soldiers whom could help make his goal a reality. It was roughly ten years of recruitment to do, honing every vampire’s powers to be effective against the most strongest of defenses. The war of the era was called “The Crowning War”, a befitting name as it was the first decision Alexander made as King. His plans were not made alone, it was with the help of his royal advisor and childhood best friend, Alain, whom only enabled his twisted ways. Although not ever entering the battlefield, Alexander made all of his commands from within the castle and he also made sure to send his advisor to relay his messages. Each city was dominated; practically destroyed and conquered, all the waterways were taken over in order to prevent any civilians to escape from tyrannical rule. Rinse and repeat, each city and continent was essentially brought under the rule of Alexander, overriding much of the laws of each state and replaced with the special constitution which governs that of Misteria except tailored to each specific place of rule. Although under strict regulations, Alexander was not initially cruel to his new-found people but he did exterminate many of those whom were of half-blood as he found them extremely filthy for the population. Humans living among the many cities then too were put into slavery, working under harsh conditions and even some were brought back to the Kingdom of Misteria to serve at the castle or even to be used as maids / servants for many of the noble families. Many of these humans were of course given beds to sleep in and meals to eat although they were expected to never see outside the homes they worked for unless they were ordered on errands to fetch things for the family. It was towards the end of “The Crowning War” that Alexander had settled down to then seek out a suitor to join him on the throne, that was when he had met a noble woman who is now Queen of Misteria: Emilie Petit. It did not take long for the two to marry after their relationship flourished for several years, shortly they were blessed with their first child.
DURING THE CANON TIMELINE: Alexander was known to not be fond of half bred species, especially when it came to The Chosen. Upon having to having his only legitimate child shunned shortly after her birth ( Ophelia ), his crown heir is discovered to be a dhampir by the dawn of his 18th birthday. Of course, he made it an example that not even his own blood was an exception to the punishment for an “impure” existence. He inflicted many wounds upon his son before he exiled him - which was against his own will but the law is the law - the people wished for his life to be spared. It was during the absence of his son that he trained the next son in line, of course this was a bit of a disappointment because Augustine was the rebellious son and was known to disappear. He did not have an obedient nature like Lawrence nor did the youngest seem to be a good choice for finding another successor to take over. This is when he decided to just completely ignore his children ( even if he was unaware that they aren’t his ), eventually even his wife who had been deliberately ignoring him for years to come. His anger and dissatisfaction towards the crown prince only grew so he eventually orders his adviser to send an order to the army to seek out the prince and bring them to him. It was unknown what he was planning at the time but many of the soldiers expected he wanted to kill the prince before the court or even its people. Of course, this was a failure on all of their part while Lawrence and his companions were gaining favors from the other countries wishing to take down the King. His control on the nations was still strong but only out of fear. While he had his troops not stationed in Misteria in search for the crown prince, Lawrence was building an army and this is could only be considered his greatest mistake. He let himself be angered by a complete dissatisfaction in his life that he made himself vulnerable to be taken down. Upon the day of his death, Alexander was holed up in the throne room trying to figure out how to get a hold of Alain, his adviser, yet he was nowhere to be found - he had been in the dungeons. It was his two children that were before him. Lawrence, already had been covered in the blood of one of his loved ones and then there was Ophelia who was a splitting image of his wife, Emilie. This startled him and with no one to defend him, he had to fight on his own and although he is not a warrior, he was still difficult to kill. He had knocked his daughter unconscious and it was his son who had brought him to his knees. In that moment, he was impressed, almost PROUD of what he was able to accomplish just to kill him. It was probably the only time in his life he seen his son look at him with a sense of resentment, no idolization he seen when the boy was growing up but he was pleased. Although he was a truly horrible man, he was happy to die by the only son who he felt was worthy despite his existence being blasphemous in his eyes. It was in his last seconds that he was smiling while Lawrence swung his sword and beheaded him. Lawrence, til this very day, keeps his skull in the throne room encased as a “trophy”.
