Ran out of all sorts of motivation realizing that there are people who SHIP Joel and Ellie. Fucking nasty. In most of these people imagines Ellie is still obviously a minor, or stupid-ified down to the mindset of young girl. Hurts me down to my soul that people made the effort to write one of the (better) lesbian characters in video games, fleshed her out, flaws and all into a grown woman- and also made a man, dedicated to the character as a father- a father and nothing more, because he lost a daughter, and they're are people shipping for either a: the sake of Ellie not being lesbian or b: there own sick fantasies about RAPE- and pushing them onto a character who was almost sexually assaulted. "Its just fiction!!" It stops being just fiction when you are getting off on the idea of a grown ass man raping a minor, or the idea of dummy-ifiyng a SMART woman into nothing more then a victim. I can understand darker kink content- but that is obviously consensual. I understand that the fandoms I am in, often write darker content. But its between two adults, who have not had an established father-daughter relationship. The stories we write, even if its just smut to get off on, it matters. It matters how we interpret content and characters. It matters how we respect the content we consume. Do not fucking follow me, if you ship joel and ellie or powder and vi and so and so forth. Fiction is the eye into YOUR mind. And it certainly says a lot about YOU when you write rape and incest.
