Gusts and Hail
The shore of Easedale Tarn, which at this time of the day felt more like the North Sea the wind was so powerful. To the left Tarn Crag (551m/1,808ft) looms above the tarn, cut clean from ages of glaciers.

ISO100, ƒ/8 and ƒ/22, various shutter speeds at 14mm (21mm full-frame equiv.) using a slim circular polariser and a soft 3-stop ND grad filter stacked on my Sigma dp0 Quattro. I shot two exposures at ƒ/8.0 for focus stacking, then shot seven exposures at ƒ/22 (0.8 each) to get an averaged exposure of 5.6 seconds. These were all processed in Sigma Photo Pro, then blended and edited in Photoshop.
The Source of the Grasmere Vale
Long-term followers of my blog will know I’ve explored Sour Milk Gill at the head of Easedale quite a bit. Beyond these falls lies a popular body of water, Easedale Tarn, but I’ve never managed to have the time to get there.
Until today.
Conditions were better than they have been recently, so I parked up at Grasmere and made my way to the tarn. The trail is excellent all the way, save one or two patches of bog, and Easedale Tarn was glorious. I got to shooting compositions immediately, fighting the winds pouring off the crags surrounding the tarn. I got hailed on a couple of times as well. Still worth it. =)

These were all processed in Lightroom, and blended and edited in Photoshop.

My bunkmate had already got up and I saw her in the kitchen, where she apologized for waking me up.
