Started another Dragon Age Inquisition playthrough recently. Never played as a human or a rogue, so I’m playing as Adam Trevelyan, a certified bisexual disaster-himbo.
He’s a twin, and the fourth child of Lord and Lady Trevelyan. He didn’t do well in his studies with his tutors as a child, and as such is kind of barely literate and fairly ignorant of the world, can’t draw/paint or play a musical instrument, and couldn’t carry a tune with a bucket. He’s pretty, and has slept with a good number of people, from stable hands to high born ladies and their maids (sometimes all three at once), but he’d never kiss and tell. He’s a service top by default, but is more than happy to switch as well.
He’s good with a lockpick, and good with daggers and a bow, and animals like him so he’s a good rider and has a pet mabari at home called Luna. He has a pretty noticable stutter which gets worse when he’s tired or in pain, but he isn’t too bothered by it. He does get annoyed if people finish his sentences when he gets stuck though.
His twin sister is a mage and he has some ability with magic - hence his rogue abilities, which he enjoys practising and using.
He’s instinctively kind to everyone from the get-go, is very protective of the people whom he loves, is exceptionally easy to dupe and as such as been used and taken advantage of a lot, and he doesn’t have a lot of faith in himself or that he’s worth anything to anyone. When he was young, in an attempt to get his academic work up, he was sent to a chantry-run school where he was not treated well in a number of aspects. His twin sister was instrumental in getting him out and bringing him back home. He was not happy about being sent to the conclave…
Adam can be self-centred and oblivious at times, and isn’t very good at seeing the bigger picture or at reading the room, so he often puts his foot in his mouth. Poor Josie is going to have kittens about him at the Winter Palace…
In contrast to my last inquisitor, who was a shrewd, taciturn, learned elf, Adam is an extrovert and a bit of a party boy, and would much rather be draining tankards dry with the Chargers, coming up with pranks with Sera, and sparring with Krem than chairing meetings with Cullen.
Leliana scares the living shit out of him, he’s intimidated by Cassandra until he realises he can fluster her by flirting with her, but he gets flustered when Bull flirts with him. He thinks Dorian is the most attractive man he’s ever seen but can’t imagine why someone as smart and brilliant as him would be interested in anything more than a quick and casual fuck for the evening. He trusts Varric, is wary of and confused by Solas, likes Blackwall, would protect Cole with his life, and has no idea what to think about Vivienne but is definitely a bit scared of her too. He adores Scout Harding and would do anything she asked, and ships her with the professor later.
So yeah. That’s my new Inquisitor.
