DETAILS ABOUT HAUZ KHAS
Shopping & Foodie Hub
There are charming boutiques owned by some of the best known fashion designers sharing space with little art house cafes & restaurants such as Flipside Café, Kunzum Café, Yeti – The Himalayan Kitchen, Diva Piccola, Elma’s Bakery, Maison des Desserts etc to name a few. Also worth a mention is The Gunpowder perched on the 3rd floor overlooking the lake & Deer Park has minimalism interiors but a fiery attitude in South Indian Cuisine, a mix of Dravidian taste borrowed from Andhra, Kerala & Tamil Nadu.
The evenings are lively, fun & happening with many existing & upcoming restaurants, bars & lounges such as Imperfecto, Fork You, Out of The Box, Boheme, Amour, Thirty Nine, The Pink Room, He Said She Said etc & a sense of camaraderie envelops you as you walk through with mostly the young & happening – tourists, expats & locals by your side.
Easily Located
Encircled by posh colonies like South Extension, Safdarjung etc, you can arrive at the village most comfortably by the Metro rail network & alight at either Hauz Khas or Green Park Station. If you like, you can walk for about 15 minutes to the village or hop onto an auto rickshaw for a short ride; the choice is yours.
The narrow walkways & lanes of the village are like a labyrinth of the Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk lanes, only cleaner & prettier, but the overhead tangled snake-like electric wires spoil the ambience.
