Obligatory ask for your muses... who's going on the Easter egg hunt, and what would they enjoy most about the holiday?

More than likely all of Commander Repard's crew are going on the Easter egg hunt as a tradition to beat the Blade of Marmora's record of finding the most glow-in-the-dark eggs. The only rule was that with each egg found, they had to take a jello shot. That, and no weapons were allowed on the planet they were doing this activity on.

It was the one time where they would allow truce between galra.

As far as what they enjoyed most about the holiday, well...they didn't really care for the traditional religious part of the Earth holiday. Rather just the fun aspect of the egg hunt as well as the food and drinks that were provided compared to the usual food goo and military normality aboard their large galra cruiser.

Repard usually spent this holiday making sure his soldiers and lieutenant took this as a fun activity to de-stress while working together (or solo) in getting the most eggs. He doesn't really have a family (to his knowledge) to celebrate this particular holiday with so his found family aka his crew he wanted to do something special for them.

As far as for Rex and Plyrad, they loved competing with each other for the golden egg or the most eggs in general. The drinks and food being a bonus in making sure the hunt was extra exciting.

Danika usually sides with the Blade of Marmora on this holiday, leaving her mask on so that the others aren't aware of her true identity. While egg hunts were exciting, she enjoyed the family aspect with her comrades. They'd host a big feast together in the grand hall of the Blade of Marmora headquarters and she loved hearing all the grand adventures and tales/stories that each member shared.

Of course it was also bittersweet as the fond memories she had with Kolivan, Antok, Thace, and Ulaz were the Easter egg hunts they did during her childhood (separate from the Galra Empire ones). She would go to her family's altar and share food and drinks with her passed loved ones. Kolivan often reminding her that she wasn't alone and that regardless of bloodline that they all come together as family.

hmm weird i never remember the egg being colored under the shell? but i feel like this whole egg painting thing is done mostly by families with little children who probably don't even like boiled eggs so..😅

Some people have said it ends up getting coloured and others said that it didn’t... I’m not an expert, but maybe the dye comes through if you wash the egg before? (because eggshells are porous, so they have a natural coating to protect the insides that comes off if you wash them--that’s why it’s safer not to wash eggs)

Well, several people said they do/did eat the eggs, but yeah, I don’t think children in general are big fans of boiled eggs (personally, I’m not) and I doubt wealthy families worry about the food waste, so I suppose it depends.

In my family, we dyed the eggshells instead of the eggs. So we'd drain the eggs, and use the innards for baking, and then we'd dye the eggshells and fill them with confetti

yes, you can totally eat the eggs! :D although when i was small i kept one for like six years on a shelf, bc i thought it was really pretty lol

but... why wouldn’t you just hide chocolate eggs? and are the eggs dyed too, since eggshells are porous?

I suppose the painting the eggs part is a fun family bonding thing, but I’d be hard-pressed to eat the eggs afterwards, so it seems like a waste

will someone kindly explain to me the painted eggs thing?? are the eggs hard boiled? do you eat them afterwards? or are they raw inside? are they empty? are you actually just wasting food like that? what is the meaning of this tradition?
