Hello from Mount Nemrut! 🇹🇷🏍️❄️Mount Nemrut is a mountain in southeastern Turkey known for its statues and monuments erected on its summit from the 1st century BC. The flat mound in the third photo is believed to be the burial mound of King Antiochus I of Commagene. The heads of statues once sat on their stone bodies, but at some point they were removed. This site is famous because it is a testament to Antiochus’ Greek and Persian ancestors.This has been on my list since I touched down in Turkey. I was told by many locals there was still snow on my mountain, but I tried anyways. I’m glad I did because the friendly security guard used Google Translate to inform me that while the road was still closed due to the snow, I could still hike up. So off Crystal goes hiking in the snow!Amazing isn’t it? Mount Nemrut is definitely top 5 of my favorite spots in Turkey. The snow adds such a a beautiful element, doesn’t it? ❄️

तुर्की में भूकंप से तबाही, 18 की मौत, 500 से ज्यादा घायल

चैतन्य भारत न्यूज अंकारा. पूर्वी तुर्की में शुक्रवार को आए भूकंप से भारी तबाही हुई। इसमें 18 लोगों के मारे जाने की खबर है और 500 से ज्यादा लोग गंभीर रूप से घायल हुए हैं। रिक्टर स्केल पर भूकंप की तीव्रता 6.7 मापी गई है। भूकंप से करीब 10 इमारतें जमींदोज हो गए। सबसे ज्यादा नुकसान पूर्वी इलाजिग प्रांत में हुआ है। (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({});

कहा जा रहा है कि यह भूकंप इतना तीव्र था कि इसके झटके पड़ोसी मुल्कों इराक, सीरिया और लेबनान में भी महसूस किए गए। हालांकि, इन देशों में नुकसान की अभी कोई खबर नहीं है। तुर्की के गृहमंत्री सुलेमान सोयलू ने बताया कि, 'भूकंप का केंद्र पूर्वी तुर्की में स्थित एलाजिग प्रांत के सिवरिस कस्बे में था। मृतकों की संख्या बढ़ सकती है।'

सरकारी अधिकारियों का कहना है कि, प्रभावित इलाकों में राहत बचाव अभियान चलाया जा रहा है और घायलों को नजदीक के अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, इस भूकंप की वजह से कई इमारतों में आग भी लग गई।

तुर्की में आई इस भीषण तबाही में बड़ी-बड़ी इमारतें मिट्टी में मिल गईं। इन इमारतों के मलबे में भी कई लोगों के दबे होने की आशंका जताई जा रही है। भूकंप आने के दौरान लोगों ने 40-40 सेकंड्स के अंतर में 60 झटके महसूस किए गए, इससे लोगों में डर का माहौल बना हुआ है। बता दें, तुर्की में सबसे खतरनाक भूकंप साल 1999 में आया था, तब यहां 18 हजार लोगों की मौत हुई थी। ये भी पढ़े...
