A personal touch goes a long way. The next time you send a request to connect on LinkedIn, instead of sending the auto-generated message that everyone else is using, take the time to customize your message. . Briefly explain why you are reaching out - did you meet them at a networking event? did they post something interesting? are they someone whose career you admire? Include personal details so the other person knows you’re being sincere and not just trying to up the your # of connections. . Hi [name], I’m a college senior at [insert school] interested in marketing. I’ve been following [insert company] over the last year or so and loved your recent campaign with __________. I’d love to keep in touch and learn more about your work. Best, [name]
