Brainstorming scenarios for the au which of course means a lot of out of context moments that may or may not happen in the au hehe

Still on hiatus but I’m feeling a little emo so existential crisis au doodles. I thought about them…

Existential Crisis AU early brainstorm doodles! A lot of doodle scenarios, how the au possibly started (flowey causing it is a scrapped idea but he still has a big role in this au) papyrus going through emotional and mental turmoil due to the numerous resets he’s gone through, and then finally papyrus wardrobe change in one of the epilogues (Endless Genocide to be exact) which is the most mentally excruciating resets………yeah papyrus goes through a lot in this au 😭

Been brainstorming dialogues for a scene in Existential Crisis

It’s also a way for me to get better at writing Flowey since I want to understand him more better in order to write him better

Context: Papyrus is sitting in the snow, thinking out loud of what “Frisk”/the player motivation is. What are they trying to do? Why are they doing this? What could they possibly gain from repeating this exact day over and over? He gets frightened when Flowey pops out of the ground from behind him. Flowey is irritated that Papyrus has not been following his own schedule, or ‘routine’. Papyrus tries making up a lie, but Flowey sees right through him. He figures out that Papyrus is pondering what the human’s motive could possibly be, and Flowey is clearly annoyed at his poor attempts. Papyrus however, doesn’t care of what Flowey thinks, all he wants is just to understand why they could possibly be doing all this for.

E.C. AU concept doodles back in August. The very beginning stages of fleshing out the AU, so a lot of things have changed from these first concepts :]

‘Frisk’/Player concepts

Getting a feel of how Papyrus would act in the AU

Brainstorming the possible epilogues towards the Player (note: Frisk is just emoting just to make it easier to see how the player feels)

Flower’s character and behavior in the beginning of the au (he’s shown to be mean here but he’s just overwhelmed with papyrus’ panic and doesn’t know how else to cope with it yet)

Papyrus new battle body concept

short comic (originally a destresser just to vent, so what’s happening isn’t entirely canon. does give you a sneak peak of what a possible comic would like)

Has Papyrus tried to talk about it with anyone else? Has anyone else noticed the changes in his demeanor??

Yes, many many times. The first few resets, he mostly kept quiet of what he was going through but he couldn’t shake the feeling of this intense deja vu. After a couple resets he had enough and first person he went to talk to about this was flowey! he wasn’t very helpful however…then with undyne, who sadly didn’t take him too seriously and only takes it as papyrus not getting enough sleep, or any sleep at all from the sight of his eyebags! then finally he tried to talk with sans who was honestly the closest person to really understand where he’s coming from. but of course every reset, his memory is always erased so he never remembers papyrus telling him anything. After awhile papyrus just gave up trying to seek out for help to those who can’t seem to remember expect for flowey. From here on he tries to deal with this problem on his own, even though it’s mentally exhausting and disorientating for him to even think about. But even still, others do notice the change in his behavior. However, papyrus just tries to brush it off and makes up excuses to not worry…it’s not like they’ll remember even if he told them
