Edogawa Ranpo doesn’t do the romantic kind of love.

Don’t get him wrong, he loves his friends, and he’d do a lot for them, he’d help Kunikida by finishing his (very boring, very dull) paperwork; he'd sacrifice some of his money and time just to buy some snacks for Dazai to eat (because he worries the other would just starve him if no one feeds him).

He loves his family, his biological family, and the people he’d come to recognize as family, He avoids throwing tantrums whenever he has to do something he doesn't want to, just because it'd make Fukuzawa mad; he likes going shopping with Yosano, even if he's forced to carry her bags.

He loves them all a lot, he’s happy just seeing them happy.

He just doesn’t see the appeal of romantic love.
