Meron bang incoming freshmen dyan na nagdadalawang-isip kung ano ang kukunin nilang kurso after they graduate in high school? Is Electronics and Communications Engineering one of the courses that you’re considering? Maybe you can take some time reading this since ECE student ako and I’m on my fourth year na. (Hopefully maggraduate na ko this October hehe). Siguro naman some of the things that I will share here can help you kahit papaano. Based from my own experience naman ang mga inilagay ko dito. Let’s begin.
Di naman puro Math lang ang ECE (or other Engineering courses)
Medyo out of bitterness agad-agad ‘to pero totoo naman. Though a lot of things will be based on computations, it would be better if technical and analytical ka mag-isip because you will be working on finding the best solution to a particular problem. Marami kang pwedeng isagot sa isang tanong and you will have to find out which solution would fit the situation best. Of course may PE, NSTP, Rizal, Social Science and Humanities subjects ka pa. Wag kang tamarin sa mga yan. In some cases kasi nanggugulo talaga yang mga yan, pa-major subjects ika nga nila.
Intelligence would get you a better grade. But remember, hindi lang grades mo ang titignan when you are trying to land a job. Tsaka you will be with a lot of different people when you work in the field.
Electronics Engineering ang magiging title mo pag nakapasa ka ng board exam which makes quite hard for those who are into Telecoms to get recognized abroad kasi other countries would just consider you to be in Electronics lang kasi sila may separate course sila for Communications Engineering. Pero actually it would be best if you’ll be in this field compared to the other two. I will elaborate it more in the next number. Pero sa Electronics kasi Computer Engineers and Technicians are also learning the craft. May Electronics Technician board exam which can be taken by Computer Engineers and even TESDA Technical Courses basta you’ll get the prescribed number of units. May nabasa nga ako, bakit daw di lagyan ng specializations ang ECE, like BSECE major in Electronics, major in Networking, major in Microwave Engineering, etc.
Like yung communication standards natin ngayon. May LTE na ngayon which we are mostly aware of and kahit yung mga engineers na nagtatrabaho na ay nag-aaral din about dyan.
All work and no play makes John a dull boy, diba? Huwag mong i-limit ang sarili mo sa apat na sulok ng classroom There’s a big world around you and it is good if you’ll discover it while you are working your butt off in studying. Tapos takbo ka as officer. Basta. Mahaba-haba na rin to. Nakakatamad na magexplain. Nagets mo narin naman siguro no?
