babe, idk what it is that you are posting about, it's probably very lovely, but the random german in it is confusing the shit out of me. why is she called sky (himmel)? who is freezing (frieren)? sincerely yours, a confused german.
*cracks neck* Hiya!! Since you asked, allow me to explain. It's a new anime I have gotten into called Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. It's about an elf, Frieren, who was a member of the part of adventurers led by Himmel the Hero.
Frieren and Himmel. So since Frieren is an elf, she basically outlives Himmel and everyone else in her party. And when Himmel dies, she realises that she took them for granted and didn't really spend time getting to know them. So she basically goes on a journey to get to know people more, and carry on Himmel's acts of kindness etc. etc. It's really nice; very melancholy and it makes you feel nostalgic for some reason. And yeah, there's a lot of random German wording lol. It's sort of symbolic, because Frieren (Freezing) suits her because her character used to be kind of cold and apathetic before she met Himmel. And Himmel (I think they were going for heaven rather than sky here), because he's sort of the standard for a good guy, and he's what drives Frieren and most of the other members of the party to better themselves.
Apart from those two there's also Fern, Stark, Heiter etc. etc. The names kind of relate to the character traits, Stark is a strong warrior, Fern is quite distant as a person etc. I mean, this one guy who's practically a walking tank is literally called Eisen so yeah lol. It's a great show though, and still ongoing and you really start to love the characters. Recommended to anyone who likes anime or fantasy or both. Hope this clears it up, I will be up to discuss this more if needed lol. Thanks for the opportunity to rant about this XD
