Aspirations for the Future

Echo was quiet. Content to settle in the corner in class and do work. Happy to be with their adopted family... And worried about how their mom and dad were handling things.

They were watching training again. The newbies working hard to prove themselves while getting guidance from the veterans that they were sparring against. Their dad was happy to guide, sitting with his own trainee and chatting while Echo was distracted from their book.

This was cool. They wanted to join and learn, if not to help the settlement, then to at least protect themself so that the warriors wouldn't need to worry so much... But their parents worried so much...

They didn't want to worry them... A sigh left the young teen as they leaned on their hand and arm, watching the training further.

Training Body and Mind

They always did their homework near one of their parents. That was why they had it out as their dad practiced in the training area of the guard's barracks.

Every so often, orange eyes moved to look at the main area when the slap of whatever weapon was being used on the dummy went just a bit too quiet. Weapons were swapped out, the dummy was checked...

"Dad?" Pink eyes turned to meet orange. Small smiles were exchanged. "Think you could teach me something?" The father chuckled, the hammer-style training weapon slung over a shoulder as he stepped over toward his child. Light teal hair was ruffled, almost shaking it out of the pony tail that it was in. "Hey... Daaaaad."

"Maybe when you finish your homework Echo." A bigger smile followed the statement as he turned to head back to where he was practicing. V was, after all, pretty strict about time not being wasted when on shift and all.

Homework was returned to as the thunk of a training weapon hitting the dummy resumed.
