ECH prices firm slightly as longer-term trend stays supportive
ECH closed December with a modest weekly gain, offering a firmer near-term signal after earlier softness. Prices rose Rs 2.00/kg week on week to Rs 182.00/kg, matching the improvement seen on a fortnight basis. Indian ECH prices have therefore edged higher into the late-month close, even as the broader short-term picture remains mixed. The month view continues to show weakness, with prices down Rs 6.00/kg from Rs 188.00/kg earlier in December. In contrast, medium- and longer-term comparisons remain clearly positive. On a three-month basis, prices are higher by Rs 13.00/kg from Rs 169.00/kg, while the six- month comparison shows a substantial increase of Rs 33.00/kg from Rs 149.00/kg. Year-on-year prices are also up Rs 22.00/kg from Rs 160.00/kg, underscoring the strength of the wider trend. Within the past month, prices traded between Rs 188.00/kg and Rs 180.00/kg, keeping movements controlled. The latest close places prices just above the lower end of this range. Indian ECH prices are therefore stabilising after earlier declines, while ECH prices in India continue to reflect a split between a softer month view and firmer longer-term gains.
