Some phone shots I grabbed to show my partner where I was. Got nicer ones on my camera which I need to edit still, but I’ll post these in the meantime.
Happy Day of Visibility, live event friends.

Was only just getting started. Graduated in April 2018 with a 3-year advanced diploma in Tech Production. Last gig was March 12th, 2020. Over a million Canadians are or were (until the pandemic) employed by this industry, that’s the first to shut down and the last to return.

Standing by, friends.
In the meantime, will be out this evening getting some photos of the red venues in the city.
Can’t see much activity on tumblr about this, but happy Day of Visibility to the Canadian live events tech crew.
I’ll be going out tonight to see and take pictures of all the red-lit venues and landmarks around Toronto. Hope it’s a good one for everyone!
#Repost @shawfestival with @get_repost ・・・ Today, the Shaw Festival is lighting the Royal George Theatre red. The Shaw joins over 100 organizations in Canada to light up red in support of #LightUpLive: a day of visibility for the entertainment and events industry. This initiative, which started in the UK, was created to draw attention to the devastating impact COVID-19 has had on the live events industry while lobbying for governmental support. COVID-19 has had a catastrophic impact on the live events industry in Canada. Many artisans, contract workers and employees in the live events sector are out of work, with no idea if or when they will be able to return. Those that are still employed are faced with a severe loss in working hours or are living with a looming concern of job security. We light up today to raise awareness for an industry that is still in the dark, but eagerly anticipating its return to stage when it is safe to do so.
