"Better than having no confidence, I have faith in you and your skills. Besides what's the worst that can happen? Two grown adults lose to two random kids?" Markus grumbled as his Porygon-Z buzzed in excitement near his head. "Sorry Glitch but I don't think me or my new companion here have a lot of money so I'm going to play it safe" he stated, patting the Pokemon before pulling a ball off his belt, getting ready to battle. "I'm Markus by the way, a pleasure to meet you, Miss"
All Daedra could do was let out an awkward chuckle, her fingers pulling and fiddling with one of the hair sections hanging at the side of her face. Well... it was nice that someone here had some confidence in her. And, despite the stranger's calm but assuring comment, Daedra did feel there was something poignant to lose here.... Though, it was quickly revealed the other trainer was in a similar standing as herself. It was clear this battle would either be victory for them... or no dinner.
Instead of sending forth the version of Porygon that had been hovering about his person, the young man reached for a different ball instead.
His voice quickly brought Daedra back to reality. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Daedra did her best to get into the proper mind space. Not quite full confidence, but atleast positive enough to offer a big smile in greeting. Pulling one of the pristine white premier balls from her belt, Daedra raised it at the ready, holding to the seriousness any experienced Pokemon trainer should when faced with a challenge.
"It's nice to meet you, Markus," Daedra said, nodding her head. "I hope we can share a proper introduction once we finish~ You can call me, Daedra--- now let's give it our best then!"
Smiling wider, the redhead turned her eyes forward, setting them to the center space between herself and the two opponents across herself and Markus. Tapping the button to enlarge her pokeball, Daedra gave it a gentle toss, prompting it to burst open and summon the creature inside. Pendra, large and pink, took form in mid air, dropping to land on the ground with the hefty force from her sheer mass.
The bug Pokemon immediately took note of the setting, putting herself into a prepared stance. The Scolipede the craned her long neck around to give a happy glance and 'doot' back to her trainer - she was ready! She would do her very best!! ---
"Booo!! What kind of grown-up uses a basic bug Pokemon? You're gonna lose soooo bad!!"
Both Pendra and Daedra immediately turned to the source of the rude comment - one of the two younger trainers they were facing. It wasn't hard to figure which it was. A young boy held his weight on his one leg, leaned back in assured confidence as he brushed the back of his hand under his button, snubby nose. He didn't seem the least bit intimidated by the 8ft bug awaiting on the field.
"Just do your best, Pendra! You know how good you are!! We can do it," Daedra called in assurance, promoting the Scolipede to rattle her horned antennae high and proud. In response, the young trainer smirked, going for his own pokeball.
"Let's go, Monferno!! Set this bug on fire!!"
Another pop, and suddenly there was a blazing chimp Pokemon on the field! Ready and eager just like it's trainer. The Monferno raised it's arms over its head with a mighty cry of it's namesake.
