First designed in the late 50's, Panton kicked his creation into full production after perfecting the chair's design. He wanted a lightweight, stylish and stackable chair that could be manufactured in a variety of different colors. Fast forward 60 years... Guess how much an original design cost??? Well... Walmart has them for the low... Only $80 bucks. But, an OG quality piece will run you close to two stacks... 2 Gs... $2,000 each... #TBT (GRANDMOM’S HOUSE) ~ Big emphasis on GRANDMOM and NOT Grandma. Gloria Ruth would have had a fit if she thought I was calling her Grandma. She specifically didn’t want to be called that and made it clear she wasn’t THAT old. Being about 6 years shy of her age when she said that to little old me years ago… I totally get it now!!! Heading up the stairs to the first level of her and GRANDPOP’S split level was an old console stereo unit that found a new life as a holiday card holder, snack server for the holidays and a bunch of other things. This is one of two pieces I bought from the soon to be defunct @pier1 for a set of cool wall shelves I purchased from Ikea. Two creepy looking circus monkeys staring at me as I got to the top of the step. Unfortunately, I don’t have them anymore, but tried really hard to find them.
