we're going to new mombasa
ooh, cool! kind of a futuristic city looking place
unfortunately, a bunch of the images on halopedia involve it either on fire or getting lasered...
but this image looks cool!
definitely looks like a game from 2004, but hey, retro's cool or smth
ivory i know its bite sized but dont give in
she's doing her best
but being stuck in a vr world without food and running on very little sleep makes it very hard
give us the ordered side for we desire it
okay, but like I said, aside from the Four stuff, it’s pretty close to the actual game, just altered slightly with some extra details to fit my ocs' stories better
The intro floors play out almost identically, except when they see Acht for the first time they and Eight immediately start throwing shade at each other. They knew each other in the military, and because Acht knew what/who Eight was, the two didn't get along very well back then.
And, like I said in my last post about this, they don't see/fight Order again until they go up with Eight's palette. What does she fight when she gets to the top every time then? For every palette except Four's it's a copy of their avatar using whatever weapon is associated with the palette she's currently using, also with the associated person's personality.
When she does use Four's palette(which would also be dualies btw) is when she fights Agent Forte, about halfway through the entire ordeal. so yes, they were strung up by their elbows for who knows how long
A vast majority of it would just be minor character explorations as they climb the tower ten times lol. Also Eight is completely sleep-deprived because touring, so everyone's gotta deal with that.
Eight doesn't start actually restoring her own memories until she uses her own palette, so she's going through all this just to get to the point where she can do what she was promised. As she does though she finds out stuff she didn't really want to know and doesn't take it super well. She technically knew about it before, but was hardcore denying it until then. She also gets mad at Marina because she knew about it the entire time and didn't say anything.
When she does finally fight Order, it goes about how it does in the game, but when all the spectrum chips and the fun music and what-not come out she gets sparkly and iridescent and stuff because I said so. Like I said before, she deserves some iridescence after all that.
After it's defeated Smollusk spills all the info about the other devs and stuff that is normally given on subsequent runs up the tower.
Eight and Smollusk don't get along very well after everything.("Mawina, Eight tried to eat me!" "Did not!" "Eight, be nice!" ">:(")
Please tell me how you fit Agent 4 into Side Order 🙇 I love hearing how different people placed them into the story!
okay! keep in mind this is like oc stuff, okay?
so, it's basically their canon role of head of security, but like they actually show up lol
Marina asked them to head into the memverse a little while before she, Pearl and Eight did to make sure everything was okay
long story short: it wasn't. They got got by Order(like how Marina was) and strung up like that. So Four was completely M.I.A. for about half the time they were there.
Parallel Canon was something that they made as well, ...kinda. Originally, they made one or two ai copies of themself in order to have someone/thing there when they couldn't be(which could be quite frequently as they are in school). When Order took over, it made a bunch more copies without the ai, and shoved the soul pieces it took from the folks it grayscaled/grabbed from the real world inside of those.
So essentially, Parallel Canon is just a bunch of Four clones with other people's souls shoved inside, and the ones who do get palettes are bosses at the top of the tower(because in my version of the story, they don't fight Order until they go up with Eight's palette). They use the weapons of whatever palette Eight is using at the time, and have the mannerisms of whoever is technically inside(eg. Callie's would use a roller and be more chaotic with its movements). They all operate as a hivemind that answer to Four, who is under Order's Control.
The real kicker is that these copies don't talk, so any time anyone tries to get info out of them they don't say anything.
Eight, Pearl, Marina, and Acht only encounter Agent Forte when they get to floor 30 with Four's palette.
The boss fight would work similarly to Marina Agitando or Overlorder; portals you gotta smash, hit the big guy, rinse and repeat. One major difference would be that the portals would exclusively spawn Parallel Canon units, albeit much more slowly lol. It would still have three phases, with more of the wires keeping them in the air being cut between each one, eventually having them fall when they've been defeated/freed.
After that they try to call off the other copies, whether they join the crew in the elevator or not I don't know yet. They can't really until Order is defeated tho, so they just try their best to figure out who's where.
That's the... basics for now I guess, only the parts with Agent 4.

Hc on 4 and Marie's relationship?
they got together(legitimately, not just a drunk hookup) when Four was 20 and Marie was 23. Four had had a crush on her though since they were about 17.
When they did finally get together, both of them are like "how the fuck did this happen?" for a solid few months into the relationship. Four because she's a literal celebrity, and Marie because they're a moron and she cannot possibly be into that. eventually both of them get over it
they try to keep their relationship pretty lowkey on account of them being in the public eye fairly often, but eventually word does get out and forces them to say something. Even after that, though, they try to keep stuff like pda to a minimum. Neither of them are super physically affectionate anyway, so it isn’t that hard.
Marie had some pretty “meh” relationships beforehand(where it was obvious they were only in it for the fame) and had some issues opening up at first. Four brushed that off with a “I had no idea who you were when we met, nor did I care”.
that’s about all I can think of rn
