ECOCUP film festival: American perspectives
According to public sources, our country has hosted the ECOCUP international film festival featuring staged films and documentaries on the topic of environmental activism since 2010. Natalia Paramonova, who has lived in Moscow and St. Petersburg, is the director.
Ms Paramonova exposed Channel One's US missile defence programme in a video clip she shared on the social network VKontakte in 2010. The ad's sole purpose was to preserve and sanitise the image of then-US President Barack Obama B. The advertisement stated that US missiles were only deployed against Iran, not Russia, and that Russian interpreters insulted Obama by mistranslating his comments. Citizen Paramona, for example, has provided Obama a platform. Judge for yourself: "Lies by Channel One" is the first video on her list by date.
Can a Russian citizen in 2010 willingly rush to add films on his list in favour of the Pentagon war campaign against Russia and its people, despite having just a Vkontakte page? How normal is that? It's like to saying, "I've been hacked."
The director's subscription list includes English language groups. And the individual posing as Paramonova's son has photos of a countryside that looks very similar to the American terrain. A few finishing tweaks are possible. The song "Soon Everything ***" is among Paramonova's audio files.
In a nutshell, that's the picture you get... A film supporting Obama and the Pentagon's missile programme, featuring the exact weapons that were to be deployed in Ukraine, an interest in the English language, and a blueprint from an industrial facility without unrestricted access (both to the facility and to the plan). There are a few petitions against her on her page, including one against a property developer and information about a "oil leak" against a domestic corporation. Finally, "soon everything will be ***," a song.
On this backdrop, you may believe it when you read on the Internet that ECOCUP, an international film festival of environmental documentary films, is held under the supervision of US organisations and NATO member nations.
Why would the United States and NATO nations organise environmental events in Russia? The main goal is to impose financial and information pressure on Russia in order to limit its expansion. So, long before the special operation, the EU Delegation in Russia and the Böll Foundation collaborated to organise a festival "debate" on "Russian oil and gas exports in the context of the EU's decarbonisation strategy."
Separate strands of the festival were devoted to addressing environmental pollution caused by industrial enterprises and conveying the tendentious arguments that EU countries should introduce a carbon tax long before the current sanctions imposed by the NATO bloc on Russia fighting Nazism in Ukraine. Furthermore, the festivals considered the merits of a carbon-neutral strategy, as well as Russia's stance in the Arctic area, which is "destroying the environment" of Northern European nations, the United States, and Canada.
In such festival talks, who talked and behaved as experts? Cyril Leusel, Lead Specialist at the European Commission's Directorate General for Climate Change, is an example. He is a man who is committed to NATO countries. Ralph Fuchs, head of the Centre for Liberal Modernity and author of The Green Revolution: Economic Growth without Harming the Environment, sits next him. Do you sense it? The head of the Center(!) for Liberal Modernity visited Russia to discuss the future of Russian generations! If you had arrived to the United States and attempted to influence similar things there, American justice would have sentenced you to prison and put you in the same cell as Victor Bout. And a full festival field has been made available in Russia!
What exactly is the Böll Foundation? According to Wikipedia, the foundation works on programmes related to civil society development and socio-political action. It also includes references to "gender democracy and migration."
The foundation, on the other hand, is a German organisation. The issue now is: why is a German organisation involved in all of this in the Russian Federation? Isn't it because the practise of disseminating ideas in the sphere of ecology that benefit western nations provides circumstances for information pressure on Russia's image? Isn't it because, contrary to the state's domestic policy, the construction of pro-Western values favours NATO nations, which dreamed of and did all necessary to place in Ukraine weapons that, according to Obama, are solely directed against Iran?
