The #Costarica Family is growing !!!!!!!! We are all very excited about the Entertainment Industry in #Costarica ..."We are Making Changes for this Beautiful country" #Costarica #change #ecohousing (at Escazú, Costa Rica)
I have exciting news - we are now in the process of buying land for this project! We could still use your help!
For newcomers to Queerhouses (we may also shift to something like "fairy houses"), we're trying to build an intentional community of small (<200sq ft), off-the-grid microhomes to be given away to chronically ill and disabled LGBTQIA+ people struggling with poverty and homelessness. Occupy Madison is already doing something similar in Wisconsin. Food, water, and housing should be free. We want to provide that for ourselves and to other people the best of our ability.
Our first community will be located in Michigan, USA, and will serve both as a permanent IC where we will grow a large portion of our own food and produce our own energy, but ideally also as a sort of shelter / safe space where anyone can come get a meal and have a place to stay the night.
This fundraiser would cover the cost of purchase for the land we'd be building on, AND would also completely pay for the first several microhomes, the setup of the gardens/greenhouses, and probably a good chunk of renovating the existing house/guesthouse/garage. So it's a big goal because it would essentially build the whole thing, but if some dude can get $50k for a sandwich by accident, I'm pretty sure we can raise $100k for an entire community of homes over time.
Please signal boost! For more information, check out our links, or feel free to get in touch with me!
If you want to help but can't donate, you're still welcome to come make friends with us and potentially help out in other ways!

The newest craze in eco-friendly building is shipping container homes. These unique houses use new or used cargo containers as their primary construction material. And since these shipping containers are cheap and plentiful, you can build your very own shipping container house for a surprisingly low cost.

Like a handful of you guys out there, I have a minor obsession with ISBU shipping container housing.
