Akane braced the sink like it was the only thing in this world that was stable. He was used to being able to do something, say something, know something that would change the outcome of the situation. He never relied on chance or fate; they were too fickle for his taste.
--- “Goddammit!”
He yelled into the porcelain, fingers feeling like he could tear the sink into shreds. His knees felt like they were about to collapse. He looked up briefly to see his calm mask breaking with every second he dwelled on his situation. Without thinking he threw himself into the bathroom door to escape seeing his composure collapse any further and heard the thud of a human being getting assaulted by the oak door he had haphazardly blown open. He froze in the doorway.
