A little boy was complaining to his grandma that everything in his life was going wrong. He was having problems in school, with his brothers and sisters, and even with his friends. While he was talking, his grandma was baking a cake. Finally she asked him if he would like a snack. “Yes, please,” he said. “Here, have some cooking oil,” she said. “Yuck” said the boy. “How about a couple raw eggs?” she asked. “That’s gross, grandma!” “Would you like some flour then? Or maybe some baking soda?” “Grandma,” the boy replied, “those things are all yucky!” “Yes,” she said, “all these things seem bad by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! God works the same way. Many times we wonder why he would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But as we trust Him, despite our circumstances, eventually everything works together to make something wonderful!”
