Hev. I seen your edc post. It's nice to see that you're prepared especially with how the world is going. But I have a few questions if that's ok?
First why do you carry full size vs a sub compact?
Why 3 knives?
Which carry method do you prefer? On/off body, appendix/3 o'clock/6 o'clock
What is a WiO?
Thanks for the ask, these are all valid questions. So I have various reasons why. I'm not going to list them all but ill give you a few.
1) First off I don't always carry a full size pew. It really depends on what I'm wearing or what I'm doing that day. You really should carry around your situation. With that said, I do try to carry something worthwhile. My rule of thumb is that it's gotta be "big enough to fight with but small enough to conceal". Contrary to belief I'm not a small person so I can easily conceal a glock 17 or alike especially in the winter. So I tend to carry a full size pew. The pros out weigh the cons for me. Round capacity, accuracy, weapons manipulation all of these are easier. While concealment and weight are cons. So it's really up to you as an individual.
2) I'm just a knife girl so I like having them lol but on a serious note, I always carry two fixed blades and one folder. 2 is 1 and 1 is none method here. If I have to use a blade I don't want to drop it and potentially arm an individual. If that happens I lose the advantage. So having another blade to pull does even it back out. You never want to engage in a fair fight. Always try to keep the advantage. Furthermore weapon retention is very difficult with knives. So just assume your going to drop it. The folder is my utility knife. It's for boxes, mail or whatever.
3) Always on body carry. You never want to put distance between you and your weapon. If it's in a bag or fanny pack there's a possibility of it getting ripped off or stolen. So never do that. As for position, I mainly carry appendix but I do carry 3 o'clock or 5ish o'clock if I'm wearing a blazer or something. I feel like you have to versatile in that aspect.
4) A WiO trekker L1 Pro is a meshtastic node. It's a encrypted off grid communication device. It allows you to communicate without the need for cell internet/cell service/towers or satellite. It's very important and useful to have a way to communicate with your family and friends especially in a time of civil unrest, disaster or any reason normal communication lines don't work.
