Adaptations of three classic early Mike Shayne novels:

#1, November 1961-January 1962, The Private Practice of Michael Shayne (novel #2, 1940)

Mike Shayne proposes Phyllis, whom he'd met in the first novel. For the next few novels Shayne was one of the rare married private eyes.

#2, February-April 1962, Bodies Are Where You Find Them (novel #5, 1941)

This one was the very loose inspiration behind Shane Black's Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

#3, September-November 1962, Heads... You Lose aka Blood on the Blood Market (novel #8, 1943)

Remember when I said Shayne was married "for a few novels"? This is the one where Phyllis dies in childbirth. A turning point in the series.
