Like maybe I'm being a bit harsh but FE3H fandom has been so toxic since day fucking 1 that quite frankly I never want to touch it and especially anything that's trying to do gymnastics to try and win a stupid fandom war. I'm in my last year of Undergraduate at University, I've got actual shit to be doing with my time and I know if the roles were reversed and I seen a post from over 3 years ago I wouldn't fucking comment on it or send asks about it cause its 100% no longer relevant to the person who made the post. First of all, what religious status quo? It has been confirmed by the game's narrative several times that there is no such a thing... Other than the word of our lady *liar* and savior *hypocrite* Edelgard.

Second of all, even if that was true, Edelgard replaces the church with the Adrestian Empire and does even worse things acording to the endings of CF. I guess is only right if Edelgard does the controlling.

Last anon was right. Byleth has to fight them once first, but after that anyone can non lethaly defeat Seteth and Flayn, Edelgard included.

Byleth still has to be the one to actively spare them by fighting them.

Crimson Flower literally gives us a scenario where Edelgard has the option to spare someone when shes given the choice to spare Claude, the developers go out of their way to not give her that same choice with Seteth and Flayn. That coupled with all her rhetoric makes it very clear she does not like the Nabateans and has zero problems killing them because she blames them for the problems in Fodlan. But also forced displacement is also a form of ethnic cleansing so even if Edelgard did spare Seteth and Flayn, driving them from the only home they've ever known purely because of their race isn't the gotcha you guys think it is.

Who knows honestly. Like the Church of Seiros is the gayest Church at least in Fire Emblem history that's for sure. Bisexual Goddess, Bisexual Archbishop, Catherine and Shamir literally joking about getting married to each other, Mercedes is one of the most devout followers and guess what she too is a Bisexual. One of Yuri's favourite gifts is a Goddess Statue a gift normally reserved for the devout characters in the cast and he too be loving other men. Like.... if the Church of Seiros is homophobic its very bad at it.

Also it's peak online to come into someone's ask box and accuse an actual Bisexual woman of Homophobia just cause she doesn't like your favourite fictional waifu and prefers another fictional waifu.

You shouldn’t have to do what is normally a optional set of conversations just to avoid playing silver snow

Its not bad game design when you take unto consideration they never intended for Crimson Flower to be the first route you played. Silver Snow was the default of not only that route but the game in general the original premise of the whole game was "what would happen if your Lord betrayed you"? The whole world building that Intelligent Systems then handed over to Koei Tecmo is designed to support Silver Snow as that was the first route finalised by IS before the game was outsourced.

Crimson Flower was always meant to be a 'bonus' route in fact it was originally harder to get into it until they made it easier cause a bunch of their programmers fell in love with YKB and got annoyed they couldn't easily join her.

So if anything the fact its still so easy to get into CF even on a first playthrough is actually the badly designed part.

Also if you're somehow managing to miss the conversation to get into CF then you're really not playing the game the way its intended, they spent all that money on full voice acting, if you're skipping Monastery sections then quite frankly you deserve to be railroaded into the actual default route the developers intended for you to okay first anyway.
