Do you think Danny & Jules are fighting? I've first noticed when Jules did not share Danny's story for his birthday, when he shared most other stories dedicated to him (by teammates/friends). Additionally, the story was kinda.. sentimental? After that I've noticed that Jules doesn't like Danny's posts anymore although Danny still likes everything Jules posts. Makes me sad.
Hi. I don't even know when I got this ask, I haven't logged in for a while... but man, that's depressing to think about. I hope they're not fighting. I just recently asked myself why I'm not that hyped for football anymore and it's because nothing compares to the Edelmendola era. I had so. much. fun. with them. I'll treasure it forever. Even if they won't.
The only thing worse than Jules running into his ex, is running into his ex with his new boyfriend. Julian and Tom still have some mutual friends, so it’s not exactly breaking news that Tom has moved on. It’s an entirely different thing seeing it, though.
Julian’s emotions are still pretty raw and he’s honestly not close to getting over Tom’s betrayal. Rob asks him if he wants to go to another bar, but Jules shakes his head because he doesn’t want to give his ex the satisfaction.
“I didn’t know he and Danny were going to be here,” Gronk says.
“Danny, huh? You’ve obviously met him if you know his name,” Jules says.
“He works with me. He’s a really nice guy, actually. Too good for Tom,” Gronk replies.
Julian’s expression softens at Rob’s words. He watches the way Danny’s eyes light up as Tom leans over to whisper something in his ear. He remembers when Tom made him feel like that. Things were so promising at the beginning of their relationship, he really thought he was the one. The night Tom proposed to him was the best night of Julian’s life. He was the happiest he had ever been . . . until he found out three weeks later that Tom was cheating on him. It’s been two months, but it still feels like it was yesterday.

When Jules walks into the bathroom, he’s surprised to see Danny washing his hands at the sink. Now that he can see him up close, he understands why Tom’s into him. They’re roughly the same height and build. He’s very attractive and Julian notices how kind his eyes look. He feels like an inconsiderate idiot after he realizes he’s staring. Before he can stop himself, he reaches for Danny’s arm. Danny raises an eyebrow and Jules quickly apologizes.
“I’m sorry. I just want you to be careful,” Jules tells him.
Danny looks confused. “Um . . . do I know you?”
“No, but I saw you walk in with Tom and I know him,” Julian explains.
“Oh?” Danny responds.
“I know he probably seems like a good guy, but he isn’t,” Jules warns.
“No offense, but you’re a complete stranger. Why should I believe you?” Danny wants to know.
“I wish someone would’ve warned me about him. Don’t just take my word for it. Ask him why his last relationship ended. Or better yet, ask Gronk. Tom’s not who he portrays himself to be. I’m Julian, by the way,” Jules comments.
“You’re his ex,” Danny realizes.
“Yeah. And for good reason,” Julian tells him.

When Jules goes to pay his tab at the end of the night, he’s shocked when the bartender tells him that someone already took care of it. He knows that Rob is far too cheap to ever pay for anything unless he’s asked directly. He takes his credit card back and then he hands the bartender a $10 bill as his tip. Right as Julian starts to ask who paid his bill, he feels a light tap on his left shoulder. He turns around and he finds himself face to face with Danny unexpectedly for a second time.
“I figured I owed you for helping me dodge a bullet,” Danny tells him.
“You don’t owe me for that,” Julian lets him know.
“Maybe I just wanted an excuse to talk to you,” Danny flirts.
Jules smirks. “Well, tonight has certainly taken a turn. Looks like Tom’s loss is my gain.”
“Was that your plan all along?” Danny jokes.
“Would you believe me if I said no?” Julian asks.
“Actually, yes. After confronting Tom, my faith in men was briefly ruined. Then I thought about how a stranger was kind enough to warn me about a cheating asshole. You were so sincere. Something about you just seemed so honest. I think you’re one of the good ones,” Danny says.

“Did you really just take a selfie while we’re still naked?” Jules asks.
“I’m texting it to Tom,” Danny remarks.
“You’re not as innocent as you look,” Julian teases.
“I think you figured that out after all the things I just did with my mouth,” Danny quips.
Jules kisses him passionately. “That’s a very good point.”
“I don’t normally do this with guys I just met, especially not with ones that I met at a bar,” Danny lets him know.
“That’s funny. I met Tom at a bar. So being cautious of guys at bars is smart,” Julian says.
Danny laughs. “That’s where I met him, too. He probably used the same moves on both of us.”
“We’re both better off,” Jules comments.
Danny leans in for a sweet kiss. “I’d definitely say so.”
HEY MY PEEPS AT THE #EDELMENDOLA TAG ON AO3, CAN YOU ANSWER ME A SIMPLE THING?
WHY THE FLIPPING F YOU KEEP WRITING WEAK ASS DOLA? LIKE SERIOUSLY, BEEN AWAY FROM THE TAG BECAUSE IT KILLS ME. BRO, DANNY AMENDOLA IS NOT A WHINY BRAT WHO THINKS HE'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO DESERVE SOMEONE. BITCH, HAVE YOU SEEN HIM? DUDE IS A MODEL! HE'S LOOKED GOOD HIS ENTIRE LIFE, HE'S NOT SECOND GUESSING THAT. HE'S NOT AN INSECURE MAN, HE WOULD NOT BE PLAYING TODAY IF HE WAS. DUDE IS A FIGHTER, NOT A QUITTER.
ON THAT NOTE, BRO, RELATIONSHIPS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A TWO WAY. YOU NOT WITH SOMEONE BECAUSE YOU LOVE THE EMOTIONAL OF A CARROT THEY HAVE. IF YOUR IDEAL RELATIONSHIP IS SOMEONE BOSSING YOU AROUND AND IGNORING COMPLETELY WHAT YOU SAY YOU WANT (EVEN IF IT'S NOT REALLY WHAT YOU WANT), THEN MAYBE IS TIME TO ASK HELP, CAUSE THAT'S NOT HEALTHY FOR YOUR MENTAL STATE.
MOST OF THE TIMES, LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH AND WHEN THE PERSON YOU'RE WITH DOES ABUSIVE SHIT, YOU SHOULD GET THEM HELP AND GET THE F OUT OF THAT RELATIONSHIP.
ALSO, WHILE I'M AT IT, A PERSON WHO'S THAT BROKEN, WILL PROBABLY NEVER BE HAPPY EVEN IF THEY LOVE SOMEONE. SCRATCH THAT, SOMEONE WHO'S BROKEN AND INCOMPLETE WILL NEVER FIND TRUE LASTING HAPPINESS IN SOMEONE OR SOMETHING ELSE.
FIND YOURSELF FIRST.
NOT SAYING YOU HAVE TO LOVE YOURSELF, BUT COUNTING ON SOMEONE TO FULFILL THE PART OF YOU, YOU THINK IS MISSING IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU. THAT GIVES A LOT OF POWER TO ONE SIDE OF THE BALANCE, BECAUSE, YES, LOVE AND RELATIONSHIPS IN GENERAL ARE ALSO POWER RELATIONS.
ACTING LIKE THE OTHER IS NOT YOUR EQUAL CONSTITUTES AS AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP, BE THAT IN YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, COWORKERS OR YOUR LOVE PARTNER.
"OH, BUT THEY SEE EACH OTHER AS EQUALS!"
BRO, IF ONE OF THE PARTS ACTS LIKE A BRAT WHOSE CARROT EMOTIONAL WON'T LET THEEY SEE THEY ARE EMOTIONALLY DISTANT, THEN IT'S NOT.
IF ONE OF THE PARTS IS QUESTIONING THEIR VALUE, THEN IT'S NOT.
IF ONE OF THE PARTS MAKES THE DECISIONS ALL THE TIME WITHOUT ASKING THE OTHER BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY KNOW BETTER, THEN IT'S NOT.
Summary: He can’t focus on the words Jules is saying because he’s too distracted by his mouth. Their lips are so close that Danny can feel Julian’s breath on his face. He’s never had the urge to kiss someone so badly and that thought startles him.
