Eden bounded over to Imogen. “Hi sweetheart. Happy Valentine’s Day!” she gushed. She handed her a box of cookies, gave her a quick one-armed hug and ran away with a wave.

"Happy Valentine's Day!" Imogen echoed automatically, giggling as Eden hugged her.  "Thank you!"  When Eden was out of sight, she looked inside the box at the envelope cookies.  Had her smile any actual wattage to it, it would have caused a power outage.  She hugged the box close to her chest and hopped around in glee.

Eden approached the other girl with a bright grin. “Hi Sonya! I found something else that belongs in a box. Cupcakes!” she gushed. She pulled the box of cupcakes out from behind her box with a smile. “Happy Valentine’s Day!” She looked at her watch and with an apologetic smile, waved and ran off.

Sonya could barely get a word out as Eden dropped the box into her hands and took off.  She was more shocked than anything that the girl had remembered their conversation.  By the time she thought of an appropriate response, it was too late and Eden was gone.  She peered into the box with a smile and relished in the sweet smell of the frosting.  She scooped up a pinkie finger's worth to taste, and then tucked the box into her book bag.
