marley leaned against one of the towering bookcases, looking towards the grand staircase that leads to a second floor where the group had met. being turned away from strangers didn't hurt her, but these people weren't just any strangers; they were the only other magicians she had ever met in her life.
"who is she?" marley asked, looking back at elliot after a moment of silence.
"her name is kiara. she disappeared a month ago, and we think it has something to do with the eclipse."
summary.
Magic was created from the explosion of stars, and the elements were created. Magicians form Bonds with their opposing elementals, such as Fire with Water, Earth with Air.
A group of magicians at Verrier University meet under the guise of a book club, and during their meetings, they uncover secrets of magic that they never knew. While these secrets lead to some fearing magic more, it leads others to extreme desire. Friendships and loves are strained under the weight of unlocking the full potential of magic.

"even you knew there was something off, alara." his words were laced with venom, but his eyes betrayed his vice. she could always read his eyes, and in that moment, they screamed apologies and regret.
she had to force herself to remember who this man was, what he had done. alara held the body of her beloved; it still pulsed with his magic, though it had begun to cool in her hands.
spitting back, alara said, "and you think you know better, is that it?" his back was already to her as he walked out of the grand cathedral. "it wasn't your place!" she screamed, the shrillness of her voice echoing off the walls.
he stopped walking for only a moment. "you're right; it was supposed to be yours."
summary.
in arae, the patrons act as gods and goddess, overseeing their respective areas. after centuries of relative peace under nova, the creator, tensions between the two elite gods rise to an all-time high, and a coup against the throne of arae threatens the sanctity of the high realm.
the two elite gods were born from the same star when the universe was created. nova was the first, the creator of all life; she makes both patrons and human beings. epherus was her foil, the destroyer of all life.
as tension brews between the elite gods, the newfound lovers alara and cassius have to navigate the ever-changing heavens. but as war creeps closer, alara begins to put things together that will change her forever.
