Editblr has an accessibility problem, and we need to talk about it.
part of why i left is because none of you actually give a rats ass about being accessibile beyond reblogging performative posts, every other day I'm coming across blogs that are chock-full of unreadable fonts that are either actually indigenous scripts, break screenreaders, or are inaccessibile to blind or dyslexic people. Usually, it's multiple of these at the same time.
It doesn't matter how many times you reblog those performative ass posts about acessibility, until you actually start putting in the work, you are just being performative and ableist to your disabled peers.
Typing quirks, fonts, double spaces between words, and using a dozen different symbols from closed cultures you aren't from are all massive issues in editblr. You are isolating visually impaired, dyslexic, screen-reading editors, and editors of color from the community by allowing these issues to run rampant.
Either start adding plain text and dropping these fonts, or stop heralding yourself as an accessible and disability friendly blog, simple as that.
