Okay, so you may already know this, but I love taking angsty prompts and making them fluffy, soooo...
“Look, someone needs to die.”
Adrien shot Nino a sharp glare. “Well, it’s not going to be me.”
They both stared each other down for a moment. Finally, Nino glanced at the clock. “Okay, our reservation is in five minutes, and we’re both still in our pajamas. One of us has to die or we’re going to miss it.”
“Look, I have a lot riding on this. I’m not giving up.”
Nino rolled his eyes and dropped the controller into his lap. “Doing the dishes for a week isn’t a lot.”
Adrien frowned. “You know I hate dishes.”
“Fine, let’s just pause it and finish after dinner.”
They both glanced down at the cat they’d adopted together, curled up between them. As docile as he seemed at the moment, Plagg Jr. enjoyed causing trouble, and he didn’t hesitate to wreak havoc while Adrien and Nino were out. Knowing their luck, he’d probably be chewing on the controllers and system cables before they made it to the restaurant.
“Yeah, okay, bad idea.”
Adrien sighed. “Okay, how about this? I’ll lose if we take the bet off the table.”
“What?” Nino straightened. “No way! I’ve done the dishes for a month cause you keep winning! The bet is totally still on!”
“Fine! So, we’ll just miss dinner!”
The two sulked at each other before Nino reached out to gently scratch around Plagg Jr.’s ears. He relaxed as he the cat began to purr between them. “You know...we could always skip it and just order takeout.”
Adrien brightened. “I like that idea.”
