Education in Nepal is a long history since the culture of teaching at home. The formation of primary school was back then in the eighties, but education was only possible for higher society people. However after the democracy many educational institution began to start its execution to the reach of general people.
The top level educational body executing and exercising all the rights in Nepal is Ministry of Education. Under the ministry of education is the universities of Nepal. The largest and oldest university is Tribhuvan University popularly known as TU. Other universities that have been providing education since a decade are Kathmandu University, Purbanchal University and Pokhara University. There are however, altogether 9 university including an open university in Nepal, with Ministry of Education the apex of all educational institution.
The educational structure of Nepal is divided along Higher Education, secondary education and primary education. Higher education is provided by the universities, while secondary and primary are conducted by schools. Other than that, there are vocational training centers like CTEVT that are directly controlled by the Ministry of Education. Regarding the primary and secondary education there are two types of school in Nepal. One is community and the other institutional. Community schools gets grants from the government. On the other hand, institutional schools are the private bodies that are executed by their own source of funds. Now schools provide 16+2 years of education.
