THE SACRIFICES OF OUR ARMY
The Indian Army is one of the most important pillars of our Defence System, and we can’t imagine our luxurious and peaceful life and the way in which we live today without their sacrifices. We as citizens really need to realize the huge and tremendous sacrifices which are being made by the Army every day, as their contribution to our safety and prosperity is not just unbelievable but also unimaginable and commendable. We have heard about and read about superheroes in comics, books, TV shows, etc., but they are just in fiction. The Army comprises superheroes in real life. They do pledge to serve the nation and dedicate their whole life to the betterment of the country and to safeguard us from external power and other threats.
The men in Army live a life less ordinary. This in itself suggests that they live a life far beyond our expectations and comprehension. They even sacrifice their luxurious life, their happy moments, and the good times with their family as it is their duty that they are most loyal to. It can be said as a universal truth that we are what we are because of the sacrifices made by our Army. So that we can live peacefully today, they are there on the borders risking their lives. For the Army, nothing is more than their motherland and its dignity. Their spirit, valor, and courage are extraordinary, and they leave no stone unturned to serve their nation.
Some boys school in Dehradun state that one must always remember the sacrifices made by our Army for us. We need to create a proud and heroic mentality towards them and must respect their sacrificing nature. The families of the soldiers suffer losses that we, as civilians, can’t even think of. Losing a son, a husband, a father at a young age is not uncommon when it comes to Army. Their families must be treated with care, and the government must take responsibility for them and work for their betterment. In Siachen, wherein icy temperatures and freezing winds, the brave soldier salutes the national Flag and proudly sees it waving, there are some citizens who refuse to stand for the national anthem, as they think it to be below their dignity. Can we not realize the sacrifices and struggles faced by our men at the borders and respect our nation?
Here is a tale based on the real-life legend named Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad, better known as the Siachen Braveheart. One of the day boarding schools in dehradun also presented a play on the life of the Siachen Braveheart. He was one of the soldiers posted in Siachen, which is considered to be one of the coldest places in our country, where the average temperature is -30 degrees Celsius. The team had been sent to Kashmir and was patrolling there. Suddenly his team was hit by an avalanche which covered them completely in 35 feet of deep snow. He was the only one to survive under the snow for six days without food and water and, when rescued by the rescue parties, was still breathing. This shows his courage and determination. The battle was won, of course, and the Indian Flag fluttered at the top again like always. Despite the prayers that poured n from across the country, Naik died a day after being rescued. His sacrifice for the nation was not an ordinary one.
Hence, as quoted by some girls schools in dehradun one must not ever disrespect Army because they are real-life superheroes. Be inspired by them; learn from them the love that they have towards their homeland. They sacrifice their lives for us without a second thought. Keep them in your prayers and thoughts always. Pray for their well-being.
Jai Jawan! Jai Hind!
