Westweek Wrap
I am finally sitting down after two days of constant design, design, design at the big Westweek extravaganza. There were some great talks and loads of new, well, everything and I promise to give you all a breakdown once I've caught my breath. In the meantime, I'll whet your appetite with a few snaps from the action. First up, check out this fly custom ping pong table from James Perse. I know a few people who will really appreciate this:
And how about this lovely lady at Tai Ping. This dress was her grandmother's and beyond chic. Please note the bracelet sleeve and her nude fishnets. Funky but polished. I love it: A confection of delicious roses and sweets at the Kneedler-Fauchere reception for the elegant and charming, Jean-Laurent Thierry of Pierre Frey:
A master carver hard at work outside of the CBS showroom. For more than 60 years, three generations of the Sorrentino family have proudly produced fine quality furniture in Southern California. It is always very cool to see an accomplished craftsman at work:
The plants and styling throughout the showrooms was varied and quite gorgeous. I loved these waxy impatiens in marble bowl that looks plucked from the patio of an Aegean villa and the lemons casually tossed in an elegant plaster bowl, leaves and all (both at Michael Taylor):
And last but not least, I couldn't resist sharing how much fun Kate and Amy have been having falling in love with all of the new goodies in showrooms over the past two days. I am particularly fond of Kate's enjoyment of the newly released Edward Fields carpet at Tai Ping:
