Alright so I got to a few of my replies in my spare time since Thursday but unfortunately not everything. I have however updated my little thread tracker thing in my verse links and have rounded up everything I have left to reply to. If I haven't added a thread there that still needs a reply just let me know and I'll add it to my list.

Elena shook her head, anger beginning to rise in her heart. "That's what you said the last time, Mum. And the time before that." She brushed tears away, drawing away, hugging a kitten who'd wandered into her lap. "Daddy's never coming back, is he?"

Selina’s eyes widened slightly. “Don’t jinx it now, El.” Her voice carried an undertone of caution, warning her daughter not to go there. But she didn’t know. Selina simply didn’t know if Eddie was coming back.

The child, whose name was Elena, shook her head slowly. "I don't like going to sleep without Daddy tucking me in and telling me one of his weird bedtime stories." She burrowed into the warmth of Selina's body. "I miss him."

Selina’s heart broke at Elena’s confession. She knew the kid had been having nightmares, but honestly, she hadn’t thought that Eddie not coming home would have spurred such an emotional response in the girl. Maybe it was her own parentage; Selina was used to feeling almost relieved whenever Brian hadn’t come home.

"I know I’m a poor substitute for Daddy, but I’ll tell you a story if you want, Elena." She rocked them both back and forth, pressing her lips into the top of her head. "I miss him too, sweetie. But Daddy will be home soon." I hope.

"Mum..." The petite brunette ran a hand through her hair, padding around the apartment looking for her elusive mother, her father's eyes peeping out between choppy fringe of the crying child. "Why isn't Papa Eddie home yet?"

Selina turned at the plaintive sound of her daughter’s voice, and gathered up the girl in her arms, shushing her and wiping the tears from her cheeks with a gentle thumb. “I don’t know, sweetie.” She murmured into the child’s hair, smoothing down the tangled curls. “But he’s probably off leaving more mysteries for the police to find like he always is. Your daddy does like his riddles, doesn’t he?” Her voice was soothing, but her shadowed eyes betrayed her own doubts.

Eddie hadn’t been home in days; much longer than usual. The cats meowed their complaints about the lack of attention from the master of the house, and their daughter often had nightmares without the comfort of her father there. “He won’t even tell us where he is.” Selina chuckled dryly, then pressed a kiss to her daughter’s temple. “Why don’t you go back to bed? I’ll stay up with you a bit.”

Edward eyed the baby up and down and then nodded his head, "Tired of not having anyone around your size so you stole a baby?" He beamed. "Alright then."

She scowled at him. "Baby didn't steal its," she whined in protest. She hated the word 'steal'. The kid was going to be part of her new family. The old one was getting boring anyway.

Her muscles are heavy and begging for sleep-- - it's nearing dawn, she's already interfered and successfully stopped more than one criminal offense. It's harder to knock out somebody compared to just killing them as she's discovered, but she gets the satisfaction of knowing the black-clad Huntress was starting to gain some fear. She's on her way back home when faint footsteps just behind her make her pause. She thinks she's imagining things, when a faint rustle enters her senses again. Whirling around, she trains her crossbow on an invisible enemy. "Who's there?"
