How scary were your teenage years? Our National hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, famously quoted: “Ang Kabataan ang pag-asa ng Bayan” (”Children are the the future of this country”). What does country even mean? Is the future really ours to completely shape into our own molding? Or will the sins of the past ultimately cloud our lofty visions. This film pulls out a mirror and shows us how scary it actually is, to be tasked of carrying forward our nationalism, our identity. It’s not because we lack courage, but because growing up kills our innocence. The things that were supposed to scare us, no longer even makes us blink.
