Neither looked particularly convinced.

“I mean it!” Rey held out her hands. “Look, Kylo Ren is an absolute prick. No one is disputing that. But it’s done. It’s over. I can proudly say that I no longer work for the man who may or may not be the antichrist.”

Rose snorted. “You’re stronger than both of us, babe. I’d at least slit the tires on that ostentatious as hell Maserati he drives around.”  

“I just…” Rey trailed off, signaling with two fingers for the bartender to come back around. “I want to be done. I want to sit at this bar with my friends and have another tequila shot, and I want to forget that he ever existed.”

Robbie was still in something of an emotional whirlwind, even after talking to his siblings. Maybe even more so after talking to his siblings. This decision was a personal one, but it wasn’t just his life that it was effecting. There was one thing in particular holding him back, and he just had to see her, had to make sure she knew what she was getting into if they went through with this. There’d be no more hiding and keeping this to themselves, and the thought of that felt like a freefall. Robbie was used to jumping off cliffs, but this risk was something else entirely. 

He had Alec drive him to her place, pulling up in the dark to the little lakeside cottage where he always felt so at peace. Alec stayed in the car while he went up to the door and knocked. 

Robbie smiled when he saw her, feeling a relief flood through him just at the sight of her. And before she could even say anything, he framed her face and kissed her. This kiss was different--he wasn’t holding anything back with her anymore, and he wanted her to feel that.
