The ocean pout really has no reason to be upset! This species has evolved to survive the near-freezing waters off the Canadian coast by; they can survive the cold thanks to antifreeze chemicals in their blood, which prevents ice crystals from forming in the same way that antifreeze in a car keeps the engine from icing over.
