My first day in Manhattan
On Monday I decided to go on the EF Welcome Tour to Manhattan, where we would be shown around Tarrytown and taught how to take the train to the city. Tarrytown is an adorable town, plus the old houses and small stores and all the Christmas Season’s decorations add a magical and movie-like touch, but when we took the train and arrived to Grand Central, I couldn’t believe I was finally in the Big Apple: it was like one of my biggest dreams came true!
We walked all the way from the station to the Rockefeller Center, where the decorations are really incredible: I had never seen something like that before, really, not even in Buenos Aires, which is the closest to New York that we have in my country. We went to the Top of the Rock, where we watched the most beautiful sunset ever over the horizon of Manhattan; that was by far the most breathtaking view I’ve ever seen in my entire life!
After that we had some free time until the Christmas Spectacular in the Radio City Music Hall at 8:00, so I went with my friend Daniela to take some photos around the Rockefeller Center. Then we went to Starbucks Coffee and had “dinner”: I had a danish cheese croissant and a pumpkin spice latte, which was very exciting because that doesn’t exist back in Argentina (I mean, Starbucks Coffee does but pumpkin spice latte doesn’t). Also, I bought two Starbucks cups, one for my sister and the other one for me, that were on sale because they were Christmas Edition. At 7:30 we headed to the Radio City for the show.
The show was unbelievable: I’ve seen some shows in Buenos Aires which are really great, but this is another level of greatness! The Radio City Rockettes are incredibly good, the coordination was perfect! And the rest of the show was just perfect. I loved it so much I can’t even find the words to describe how amazing it was. After the show we took the train back to Tarrytown and walked back to the campus.
So, to summarize, I really enjoyed my first day! I’m super happy and I’m really looking forward to visiting more and more places and making new memories!!
Cool Fact of This Day: On my way back to the campus I saw FOUR DEERS!!
