I really hope numskull does a shiro efrideet or Saladin statue/plushie eventually
they responded to my comment about efrideetcor Saladin getting a statue so maybe !
but it would be cool if they made a huge statue of cayde andal shiro tevis together!
Out of all of them - and not just cause he's @hellkitten813's 💛 - I would love to see Shiro (or the trio) the most. He had a really amazing tie-in to so many parts of the story and what could've been another whole incredible chapter in the saga if they'd brought back the SIVA storyline. He also had his ties to Cayde and his past - I would LOVE to see a backstory there of the original gang! - and I would've been really interested to see his reaction to Crow and the blessing from Cayde, as well as maybe the two of them working together later on, if Shiro is still scouting for the new Hunter Vanguard.
@bungieteam left out SO much there. Not just with Shiro and his possible storylines and ties to other characters (especially Saladin becoming Valus Forge), but with so many other Guardians they hinted at then just let the stories fizzle and fade away. Like Efrideet's and WTF happened with Shin??? I was curious about where his story went, too. SO much they had laid out right in front of them that would've made for such captivating story and gameplay/missions/strikes and ... yeah.
- Cayde, who politely asks if Tevis ate his spicy ramen without permission;
- Tevis, who says Cayde is out of his mind if he thinks that Tevis can eat that shit AND will ask Cayde's permission for anything at all;
- Shiro, who did nothing wrong, but got caught in the action nonetheless just like always;
- Markus, who DID eat Cayde's ramen, but at this point is too afraid to confess;
- Shin, who tries to have ONE calm business talk with his Vanguard for a week already, but somehow there's always a shitshow happening there;
- Eris, who thought carving a bunny with an arc blade is a good idea;
- Sai, who calmly tells Eris that in fact it's not;
- Omar, who doesn't get why are they like this;
- Efrideet, who's gonna SNAP, if she hears anyone say "Rasputin" one more time;
- Ana, who STILL can't get permission to fly to Mars to search for Rasp- OOPS
- Andal, who's having a regular morning on his dream job;
- and a poor janitor frame, who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Shaxx and Efrideet have a lovely little moment for themselves! Inspired by @queenauryx. This was edited by my friend @therevolutionisbored. In my head I imagined the song in the story as It’s Been A Long, Long Time, by Harry James, so give it a listen if you’d like to get a better feel for the moment!
Shaxx tends to be the last one to leave the courtyard of the Tower. Being the Crucible Handler kept him busy—very busy –and Guardians, Traveler bless their hearts, were messy, rowdy individuals. He picks up metal scraps from dismantled gear, piles of tokens in the corner, and unclaimed gear. It all needs to be sorted and put away, prepared for the next day. Just as he was about to get to it, he hears a voice from above.
“Hey down there. I like your helmet.”
Shaxx looks up to a familiar face, or rather visor. A Hunter, her cloak laid evenly down her back, heavy enough to not catch the wind but light enough to not encumber her. Her helmet gives a stoic look but he knows her well enough to sense the smile behind the visor.
“Lady Efrideet! You’re a sight for sore eyes! Certainly, better than that old man!” Shaxx’s voice boomed, echoing across the empty courtyard.
“Mm, Iron Banner isn’t for another couple weeks. Figured I’d stop by and see how everyone’s getting on.” Efrideet jumps down and lands next to him. Not the quietest landing he’s seen her do, but she’s startled him with her presence more than once in the past. Not that he’d ever admit to it.
“You’re always welcome here Lady Efrideet. Perhaps you could teach some of these rookies how to aim. Laying down fire is one thing, wasting bullets is entirely another.”
She looks out to the City, and a moment of comfortable silence forms between them.
This is when Lady Efrideet has an idea. She silently walks over to Arcite, Shaxx keeping track of her out of the corner of his eye. She whispers something into the audio receptors of the frame, and it nods in agreement.
Music starts softly playing—a pre-Golden Age piece, not too slow but not too fast, and just the right kind of music to have a partner for.
Shaxx smiles behind his helmet, he’s heard this song before, some say it was played for lovers after one of the great wars of the past.
Efrideet walks to him, bends at the waist, and holds out her hand.
“May I have this dance, Lord Shaxx?”
“Why of course, Lady Efrideet.”
They start at a steady pace, arms-length apart and moving to the rhythm of the music. As the song slows down so do they, and Shaxx pulls her into his much larger frame. Her head rests against his chest, his arms surround her entire body. Her own arms are wrapped around his waist.
She is tiny compared to him, but neither mind, and they both silently sigh. They can feel the other relax, as tense muscles loosen and footsteps grow slower. Before long, the song has ended and they simply stand there, in Shaxx’s little corner of the Tower courtyard, embracing one another. For the first time in a long time, they feel peace. Neither can tell how long exactly they stand, simply holding one another.
Efrideet is the first to pull away. It is slow and reluctant, but she does anyway, craning her neck to look up at him.
“You’ve still got it, old-timer.”
Shaxx chuckles. “We’re both old-timers now.”
She has him at arms-length again, her hands on his sturdy hips. His hands rest on her shoulders gently, as he is sure not to put the full weight of his arms on her. She is not a small woman by any standard, but Shaxx is so tall and broad that resting her arms around his shoulders is impractical, as it would be for most Guardians.
They let go of one another. There is a feeling of satisfaction left over. They are both old—by conventional standards anyway –and neither hold any aching in their hearts from the lost contact. The feeling is sure to return once she leaves for her hidden colony again, and he returns to yelling at rookies to throw grenades.
For now, however, they have just danced for the first time in a long time, and they can look upon one another longingly, lovingly. They can remember their first dance, and look forward to their next. They can silently say they love one another, and leave it at that.
She steps closer and places a hand on the center of his armored chest.
“I’m heading to bed now. I’ll be sure to pass by again tomorrow. Good night, Lord Shaxx.”
At that, she walks away in the direction of the private quarters. Not even a glance back. But Lord Shaxx knows he is on her mind, just as she is on his. She will likely be until he finally falls asleep for the night, if he ever does.
He holds his hand over the spot she had placed her own just moments before.
(If you're still doing these) No. 5 Shaxx/Efrideet ^-^
5 Shaxx/Efideet sfw "I can't sleep, can I sleep here?"
"I think Skorri's branching from folk to opera."
"Opera? I love a good opera."
Shaxx can tell by the look on the woman's face that wasn't a response she wanted to hear. Hair wild and dainty mouth drawn in a tight frown, the Lady Efrideet chucks a pillow so hard that when it impacts with Shaxx's head, he bows sideways over the arm of the padded bench where he sits next to the fire. It's not a declaration of war- they've just finished an entire day of showing Shaxx about the place and making plans to send resources back to his drafty castle. But a pillow to the face isn't quite friendly either. Perhaps she is testing him- gauging his tolerance for small affronts like all the rest of the Iron Lords seem to have done throughout the day. Shaxx almost misses the straightforwardness of Felwinter's incessant challenges.
"You are quite...spirited for this hour." Shaxx ventures as he pulls the pillow from his face and rights himself. As he feels about for his book, he notices some stray down floating in front of his visor.
"She's singing it," the Hunter seethes, "at full volume. Right across the hall from my room."
"Ah! I see how that might be inconven-"
Sure hands snatch the pillow from Shaxx and toss it onto the bench right next to the Titan's hip.
"I can't sleep, can I sleep here?"
The question is only a formality as the Lady is already settling into the long, narrow space. The cape around her shoulders, in fact, turns out to be a blanket meant for this moment.
Shaxx shuffles closer to the arm of the bench and puzzles over the strange intrusion. "Would you care to use my room?"
It was given to him as a kindness, he's sure, but he intends to leave the Iron Lord's keep and return to his own people as soon as day breaks and did not even bother to set foot in the guest space.
"This is fine," Efrideet insists with a grumble. "Your room's not far enough away either."
Shaxx isn't sure what else else to say but the Lady seems unconcerned by his continued presence so, after a moment of scrutiny, he returns to his borrowed book. The Iron Lords have certainly acquired a vast library and Shaxx plans to take advantage of that for however long their idea of progress through unity might last.
"Don't you ever take that thing off?"
Shaxx glances down to find a single eye glaring up at him.
"Your helmet," she prompts as if he'd somehow forgotten he was still wearing it.
"Sometimes I do." He leaves it at that and he can sense the way it drives the woman crazy.
She huffs. "You'll go blind trying to read through a helmet by firelight."
"Thank you for your concern but are you here for an inquisition or for sleep?"
She huffs again but it's gentler this time. Treaty or no, Shaxx quite suspects he is still being assessed. Although, he's never encountered such an unorthodox spy. This woman has surely heard the stories of things Shaxx has done- the Warlords he's dispatched to keep his own people safe- but still she has no trouble closing her eyes within arm's reach. In a few moments, and to Shaxx's great surprise, the woman is truly asleep.
Shaxx chuckles at such strange bravery and returns to reading with Lady Efrideet snoring gently at his side.

here’s another one of my pets - this is my baby, Efrideet the leopard gecko! These two photos are about two months apart - she actually gained about 10-15 grams in between photo 1 and photo 2, and she got moved to a different enclosure because, despite what I was told/what I read, female leos cannot be housed together.
Efrideet is a really dorky little girl and she really likes being held. She also likes bread, for some reason? So I can’t have her near me when I have food or she will try eating it like the little fatty she is.
She’s also named after one of the Iron Lords in Destiny!
