I think its awesome that you want to include a trans character! I mean, you’re not making a comic about being trans(Which would be the faux pas I think, since you’re cis), just a character.

I’m some form of non-binary, so. It’s not bad for you to write a trans* character. Do your research and be respectful, but above all, treat him as a character. Make him multidimensional, give him flaws and perfections, and it should be fine. :)
Yes! I am doing research as we speak and am talking to trans friends :> Thank you!! I will keep this in mind. I dont really understand why people make non-cis characters that arent “people” it just seems weird :<
