thinking about emgk voice kink -

for kells, itll start bc he was a superfan and definitely watched em interviews before, and em has a nice speaking voice that is very calm (compared to his aggro tone in songs) that kells had grown to like. When they meet to quash the beef, what if kells just 👁👄👁 every time em opens his mouth and doesnt catch anything he says . AND and, em is caught off guard by the voice of this skinny pretty-faced punk that sounds much deeper and rougher in person, so hes also like 😶 and conversing just goes as poorly as it possibly can

this is so cute lol  i think they’d both be fumbling and awkward the first couple of times they meet in person for a Number of reasons, but i can get down w/ this one too  they’ve both looked up videos of each other and of course listened to each other’s music so technically yes, they’re pretty familiar with each other’s voices already (especially kells w/ em’s). but everything is so much more intense in person.  kells’ entire body lights up when em hesitantly uses his nickname in the middle of a long-winded retelling of the argument he’d had w/ paul in advance of this meeting, his voice softening around the syllable and his eyes darting up to meet kells’ like he’s gauging his response.  em’s entire body lights up when kells somehow accidentally nicks his finger with his table knife (hint: he’s a little distracted) and spits out a needlessly aggressive “fuck”, a rough interruption of the muted tone he’d adopted up to that point to mirror em’s.  there is kind of a lot of wordless staring going on. still, kells sends em like 7 texts in a row (verging from apologetic to unabashedly flirtatious) once they’ve parted ways for the night, and em has to bury his phone somewhere out of reach to avoid immediately responding with something embarrassing.

for their first few in-person mtgs they’d definitely go WAY OVER their allotted hour and em’s executive assistants would have to scramble to reschedule all his other meetings for the day and kells would have slim (his CTO) texting him like “uhh you coming back to the office anytime soon we kinda need you here” but both em and kells would be so embroiled in arguing furiously w/ each other about The Deal That May Or May Not Go Through that they’re spending literally all of their mental energy going around in circles for ages 

and those painful drawn-out “lunches” would turn into painful drawn-out dinners and at some point, they’d start taking breaks in between sniping at each other to Breathe and talk about non-work shit for once (even though they’re both very much consumed by work like 98% of the time bc they’re different shades of Workaholic Freak) 

and the deal starts to feel like a blurry hypothetical but they keep making excuses to see each other anyway

they’re Both hypocrites lmaoo match made in hell <3  ALSO YES!!! em as the notoriously merciless head of some bloated media conglomerate and kells as the chaotic and oft-mocked CEO of a 30-employee startup that’s making waves. maybe em wants to buy out kells’ company bc they have some sort of proprietary technology that has VCs throwing money at him. but then he actually meets with kells and he’s like “who the fuck is this idiot and how could his product possibly be legit” but also STRANGE SEXUAL TENSION? Nah, he’s just imagining things. BUT IS HE?
